I started reading The Program, by Suzanne Young just two days ago and I cannot seem to put it down! A typical pick for me, a reader obsessed with dystopian literature, this book tells the tale of Sloane, a teen girl who is growing up in a time when teens commit suicide by the dozen. In fact, with the suicide rate as high as one in three teens, Sloane's school in America has instituted "The Program." Because of their precautions and planning, The Program has a 100% success rate--not one teen that emerges from the six-week program kills him or herself. But none of them remember anything--not their friends, boyfriends, or what happened to anyone who has committed suicide. Sloane will do anything to avoid being taken by the handlers into The Program, but what if she has no choice? I can't wait to see what happens!
